Earth Sciences

This class will bring basic concepts of the Earth system sciences. It will present the students with research methods used in Earth sciences, explore the breadth of geology and its disciplines, explain connections with other science disciplines, and evoke a curiosity about the Earth – what it`s made of, cycle of geologic materials, and interplay of its dynamic processes through time. Emphasis will be given to interactive and practical hands-on exercises involving minerals and rocks, microscopy practicals, and discussions with mineral industry professional.
